How to read these records

Which companies

Four tests. A judgment opening a judicial liquidation, or converting a receivership or safeguard into one, was published in the BODACC since January 2024. No closing judgment was published after it in the bulletins read. The company is a private-law company — not a sole trader, an association or a public body. And INSEE's Sirene register gives it a headcount band of 50 employees or more.

The headcount band is not the peak

INSEE publishes a band (50 to 99, 100 to 199…) and the year it refers to. It is the latest known band, not the largest the company ever had, and it can be several years old. Companies whose band is unknown are not listed.

Who decides

In a judicial liquidation the court appoints a liquidator, who realises the company's assets; the sale of an asset usually needs the authorisation of the supervising judge (juge-commissaire). This site does not name them: the judgment published in the BODACC does.

What is not here

Names of liquidators, judges, directors or any individual. Street addresses: only the town of the registered office. Sole traders. Associations, schools, health and social-care organisations. Companies in receivership or safeguard, which keep trading. Companies whose last headcount band is under 50.
